The Croatian capital Zagreb is young and playful at heart, despite the fact that the streets and monuments of Zagreb proudly testify to its thousands of years of history The cosmopolitan buzz of Zagreb will soon strike you. Everything is accessible on foot – from your hotel to the theatre, wandering around the old Upper Town or through the bustling streets of the more modern Lower Town. And despite being a thoroughly modern metropolis, the locals welcome visitors with traditional Croatian hospitality. Its historical center is the settlement on two hills: secular Gradec, today known as the Upper Town, and ecclesiastical Kaptol.

The Zagreb Cathedral still dominates the skyline with its neo-Gothic style, while the Renaissance walls surrounding it are rare preserved examples of their kind in this part of Europe. Take Zagreb’s wonderful atmosphere and visit Upper town, Kamenita vrata, Funicular Railway, Tkalciceva, St. Mark’s church or Strossmayer Promenade, landscaped in the 19th century, where you can enjoy a romantic panorama of Zagreb accompanied by the sculpture of Croatian poet Antun Gustav Matos sitting on the bench. In the Lower town, visit Ban Josip Jelačić Square , one of the city’s symbols, the heart of the city and a meeting point for all Zagreb citizens, city park Maksimir, city square and park Zrinjevac or some other attractions , like The Botanical Gardens which contains as many as ten thousand plants from all four corners of the globe. Or open the door of some museums, like the treasury of art that - the Mimara Museum, located in a neo-Renaissance palace from the end of the 19th century, Croatian History Museum or Museum of Broken Relationships. Don’t miss to see the Croatian National Theatre - another key symbol of Zagreb, especially when night falls ,it is beautiful illuminated and biggest open-air market, the Dolac, a colorful site offering a wonderful choice of fruit, vegetables, flowers and souvenirs, like “Licitar”, small, decorated honey-cake. From the observation deck - Zagreb Eye, located at Ban Jelačić Square in Zagreb, from the 16th floor - at the very top of the Zagreb Skyscraper on Ilica Street, you can enjoy in a unique view of all the most important historical buildings in Zagreb, its squares, streets and parks.

Visit Zagreb and enjoy its charm and a relaxed unique feeling of city. Visit Medvednica Nature Park, a forest-covered mountain rising above Zagreb because it offers fresh air, kilometers of hiking trails , Sljeme skiing centre, educational trails and Medvedgrad - a medieval fort built in the thirteenth century. While you are in Zagreb, don’t miss to its rich and widely appreciated gastronomy , part of the Austro-Hungarian heritage, such as Grenadir marš - tasty pasta with onions and cheese, Kajzeršmarn, an original dessert with caramelized pancakes, pasta with cabbage (krpice sa zeljem) or turkey with pasta slivers.
